Dr. Constantina Koronidou – Plastic Surgeon
I was born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus. I graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Crete and immediately completed my residency training in General Surgery at the Department of Surgical Oncology of the University Hospital of Heraklion, under the direction of Professor Odysseas Zoras. The Department, specializing in the surgical management of oncology patients – particularly breast cancer, melanoma, and other malignancies – is the only academic unit of its kind in Greece and was the first center to implement the sentinel lymph node biopsy method for melanoma and, later, for breast cancer. During my tenure, I worked closely with the Plastic Surgery Unit, under the direction of Mr. Andreas Manios, who was my first mentor in Plastic Surgery.
Subsequently, I relocated to Israel, where I trained as a Plastic Surgeon at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and the Burn Center of the Sheba Medical Center (Tel Hashomer Hospital), the largest hospital in the Middle East and internationally recognized as one of the top hospitals in the world.
The Department manages thousands of cases annually, covering the entire spectrum of Plastic Surgery: breast surgery, breast reconstruction, body contouring after bariatric surgery, melanoma and skin cancer surgery (with a specialized Mohs unit), Microsurgery, burn management, as well as gender affirmation surgery. Under the direction of Professor Joseph Haik, I gained extensive clinical experience and expertise in demanding and complex cases.
Upon returning to Greece, I completed my training at the “Agios Savvas” General Oncology Cancer Hospital in Athens and was awarded the medical specialty title in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery following successful state board examinations.
Following this, I pursued fellowship training in Vienna under the auspices of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), under the scientific mentorship of Dr. Heike Klepetko, focusing primarily on aesthetic facial and breast surgery.
Throughout my training in Greece, Israel, and Austria, I managed a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery cases and collaborated with world-renowned Plastic Surgeons, gaining valuable surgical experience and an international perspective on modern Plastic Surgery.
I am an active member of the Hellenic Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (HESPRAS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
I have two children and live with my family in Heraklion, Crete, where I maintain a private Plastic Surgery practice, focusing primarily on:
- Aesthetic Surgery of the face, breast, and body
- Breast reconstruction
- Surgical Oncology of the skin
